Being that it was designed for racing, it is light, but since racers are trying to go fast and may hit rocks, it needed to be very durable. In order to satisfy this criteria, Mitchell Paddles was forced to develop techniques and use materials that had never been thought of. We cover the edges with a woven fiberglass rope; an industry first and still the most durable edge on the market. The tips on this paddle are polyurethane that is harder than a bowling ball giving unparalleled strength and durability to the tips.
