Available Now in Small, Medium and Large!
Keep blowing your mind on what you can do in a playboat!- The Rock Star takes playboating to the next level, once again! Intermediates and Experts will not want to miss this show!
The Basics: Shorter, faster, bigger looping, easier cartwheels, looser, lighter, and snappier makes playboating a joy! Once again a boat that makes you better, right away! The secret? Refined rocker profile, drop chines, more volume, refined bow shape, balanced volume distribution, and a new higher seating position that gives you more leverage.
The Playboater’s Advantage: What you can expect when you get in the cockpit of this new high performance machine.
Beginners will be more challenged for river running, but be rewarded with easier/bigger/faster moves. The higher seating position will take some getting used to, but if you want to progress uber fast, go for it. For the best in conventional playboating and seating- get the 2010 All-Star
Intermediates will truly know they have jumped into something special. It will take a day or two to get used to sitting 1.5” higher up, but Moves will be easier, bigger, snappier, and your friends will be impressed with your playboating in your first day. The speed and looseness of the hull will shock you as the boat is a full inch shorter than the All-Star.
Experts will rock this boat after a few rides to get used to the 1.5” higher seat. Wave riding will be more aerial, faster, looser, and the moves will feel effortless. Hole riding will be like a trampoline ride. Powerful launches up and out of the water for loop moves, while the boat will rotate around your body like a pin-wheel for vertical moves due to the improved volume distribution (more in the stern). McNasty and Phonix Monkey moves were made easier with improved rocker profile in the bow to allow it to “reel up” high before throwing. Wow, then Wow, and at least another 20 Wows every time you try something different.
Rock Star compared to All-Star: While moves are easier and bigger, faster, etc.. the All-Star has the standard seating position and is simply the easiest playboating package for beginners, or anyone who doesn’t want to get used to a higher seat.
Key features that set the Rock Star apart from the Star series:
1. 3 more gallons- but cartwheels easier- goes bigger
2. 1” shorter- but faster
3. Sit up higher- 1.5” and more leverage, everything easier, but takes a little getting used to.
4. New rocker in center 2/3rds-
5. Better/looser hull- WAY looser

Outfitting
The outfitting make up for 2012 has taken another innovative leap forward. Our goal in improving our outfitting is to improve comfort, safety, appearance, and functionality.
The boat Armor outfitting is in its 4th generation of improvements this year. We designed a new, even stiffer/stronger configuration of a thermoformed track that is welded to the hull, and a seat that is “pressurized” between the seat brackets and floor support with more contact. This creates a very stiff, very strong cockpit set-up. Turn the kayak over and walk around on the hull and see just how well supported it is. Feel free to compare to any other brand. It is a great testimonial to the boat armor system and where we are in 2012 with it.
The seating system includes our popular whitewater kayak seat shape in its new color and material, the Sweet Cheeks for great control and comfort for all day paddling. Since the boat is taking people on long, fun, days of paddling in many cases, the sweet cheeks helps assure all day comfort with no pressure points, or unsupported areas on your butt. New Water Bottle Holder on the seat. We finally added a water bottle holder to the seats. Double bungee holds a variety of bottle sizes and is easy access. The included JK bottle has a beener that clips to the bungee to secure it.
The seat is adjustable with one single thumbscrew. This thumbscrew supports the front of the seat, but mainly it prevents the seat from sliding forward or back. This is the easiest to adjust seat we can make. Remove thumbscrew, slide seat into position, replace thumbscrew. No tools, and no chance for the seat to slide while paddling. That is a big improvement over our system for the “elite seats” in 2011 and in prior years.
The Foam components all have a new color in 2012- silver/grey. Our yellow black for 2009-2011 was replaced. The main reason for this change was to improve the overall look of the boats, as we changed our logo color, our grab handle color, and our outfitting color to all match. Slick, clean, and easy to tell a 2012 boat from any other model year!
Pre-cut foam foot blocks, for a quick adjustment for those people who are like a foam foot system. If you prefer the Happy Feet, the front wall is “Happy Feet Ready” with the hole cut in it for the tubes for quick installation. Happy Feet are available at your dealer as an aftermarket accessory. We have created multiple Happy Feet sizes and 50% of the customers prefer the foam making it easier to choose your size of happy feet as an accessory than to remove it and find foam, or another size happy feet. Happy Feet sizes are small, large, 150, and extra large. I prefer the 150′s for my short legs. Clay Wright designed the foam foot blocks and did a good job with it.
Grab Handles- 2012 model year has a new solid grab handle. We took the best of the soft handles and the best of the hard handles and combinedthem into the ideal grab handle for safety and comfort and looks. The stainless steel base is over molded with a comfortable, good looking plastic cover. The shape of the handle is perfect for carrying, loading, or rescuing a swimmer. It has a large diameter that fits nicely into your hand, is warm in the winter due to the over molding, and the shape at the intersection of the kayak prevents pinching of hands or ropes. The grey color matches the rest of our 2012 outfitting.
Our 2012 outfitting for this boat takes comfort, safety, and ease of adjustment to the next level. We hope you enjoy the looks of it as much as the functionality! Boat Armor coupled with the comfort package and it is ready to go for your first river trip!
